Andrew Allen Davidson

Andrew Allen Davidson, 66 years old, died of natural causes on February 25th, 2019 at his home in Toronto, Ontario. Those of us who knew Andrew could not help but be aware of his passionate engagement with, and deep love of, the arts; of theatre and literature, of fashion and architecture, and of cinema and opera. Friends knew him as quick-witted, well-read and entertaining. He has been described as both a gentleman and a gentle man.

After graduating with Honours in English and Theatre from UWO, Andrew continued his studies, completing a Masters in Library Science at UofT. He spent his working career (42 years) at Robarts Library where he was able to pursue his passion for ideas and books. His dedication and contributions to building the collection at UofT libraries, his tact and skill, his friendship and his presence will be deeply missed by all.

Andrew will be sorely missed by his mother Olga (London), brother Scott (Montreal), sister Julie (Halifax),  sister-in-law Evelyne (Montreal), brother-in-law Ralph (Halifax), nephew Michael (St.Paul Alberta), niece Sophie (Halifax), cousin Brenda Fisk (Brockville), cousin Barbara Fisk (Gananoque), aunt Margaret Lee (Gig Harbor, Washington), and numerous cousins both in the States and Sudbury region.

Family, friends, and others whose lives Andrew touched are invited to a Celebration of Life which will be arranged and announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, may we suggest a donation to Defeat Depression (
