Christopher Scott Atkinson
If you ever met Chris Atkinson…you would know it. He was a sensitive giant, larger than life with his laugh, fearless in his sense of style and committed to living life his own way. Gone from us all too soon, Chris passed away peacefully on July 14, 2022 at 59 years of age in Toronto, Ontario after a courageous 2-year battle with cancer. Many thanks for the excellent care he received at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and the UHN Hospitals.
Chris was one of a kind. A dedicated son, a loving brother, the COOLEST uncle, and a colleague who felt more like family than someone you just worked with.
He loved guitars, late nights with his friends, music (especially the New York Dolls and Johnny Cash), tattoos, designer clothing and shoes, riding his motorcycle, and his family – especially his mother and Max his cat. He was a dedicated musician, with the biggest heart and stories for days. We will all miss his quick sense of humour and creative outlook on life.
Beloved son of Marjorie Atkinson (nee Burgess) and Allen Atkinson (both deceased). He is survived by his brother Allen and his sisters, Beverly Atkinson, and Meryl Feeney (Frank Dunn). He will be fondly remembered as the very proud uncle of Alison Feeney-Rodgers (Eric Rodgers), Brent Feeney (Julie Feeney), Joey McNabb (Ashleigh de Groot), Mathew Dunn (Catharine Dunn), Richard Dunn (Sherry Dunn), and Vanessa Dunn (Katie Ritchie), a great uncle to Adrian, Arianna, Ashley, Charlie, Connor, Henry, Jack, Jane, Jason, Maple and Violet, and as a dear friend of so many others!
Chris’ family want to thank all of his friends who provided such treasured companionship and support through Chris’ life, especially during his battle with cancer.
A community memorial and celebration of life will be held for friends and family on Sunday, August 28th at the Bovine Club (542 Queen Street West, Toronto, Ontario) from 6:00 – 9:00 pm.
Offer Condolence for the family of Christopher Scott Atkinson
