LIFE WILL NEVER BE THE SAME WITHOUT HER – A HOLE IN OUR HEARTS FOREVER

Elinore Charendoff (nee Albert) passed away peacefully at the Kensington Hospice in Toronto just before her 83rd birthday on September 21st.

A woman of strength, courage, depth and substance , Elinore was a guiding light to the people who surrounded her.  She was a world traveler who loved to document all that she learned about her adventures so she would not forget what she encountered.  She was a prolific reader favoring mystery novels and a lover of all types of theater particularly intense thought provoking dramas. She had a quick mind that had an insatiable need for knowledge and was a dedicated yoga practitioner and healthy life advocate.  She worked as a legal secretary for over 35 years and was generous with her knowledge always willing to help a friend with an true attitude of giving with no expectation of payment in return.  All who were fortunate enough to call her a friend will be hard pressed to find another uncorrupted soul who genuinely cared for them and their welfare.

Elinore was predeceased by her loving parents Edith and Hyman Albert and brother Phillip.  Elinore is survived by her loving daughter Terryl Lynne (Thomas) and her devoted brother and sister-in-law Lawrence and Maureen Albert and her neice and nephew Paula Kasey Albert and Braden Albert.  She is sorely missed by many friends and associates and all that crossed her path no matter how short a time.

Elinore also had a gift for memorizing and reciting poetry.  I would like to share one of her favorite verses:

We are no other than a moving row

Of magic shadow shapes that come and go

Round with the sun illumined lantern held

At midnight by the Master of the Show

A Celebration of Life will follow in the Future

We want to express our heartfelt appreciation to the wonderfully caring and compassionate staff and volunteers at the Kensington Hospice in Toronto.  If ever there was a way to make a bleak and morbid situation any better, the consideration and kindness shown to my precious mother in her last days went a long way to mitigate the weight of the circumstances.  It kept our mutual suffering to a fraction of what it could have been.

It is for this reason we ask that if any donations are made, they come in the form of donations to the Kensington Hospice and/or Pancreatic Cancer Research.
