Derek Cameron Penney

April 5, 1945 – July 26, 2017

Derek was born in Cochrane, Ontario the second of three sons and died peacefully in Toronto, Ontario predeceased by both his brothers.

He applied his natural business acumen to build a successful career in retail which took many forms and included extensive travel, starting with a part-time job at the age of ten in North Bay, Ontario where he spent his formative years. Throughout his life, although he had other interests, there was nothing more stimulating to Derek than to apply his skills in a business environment.

To those fortunate enough to share his life, Derek brought his optimism, wit, generosity and loyalty and in return we gave him our love, especially his daughter Jennifer, his pride and joy and Vicki, his former wife and lifelong friend.

We hope there are exciting new challenges to stimulate you in heaven Derek. You will be greatly missed and until our paths cross again, we will see you in our dreams.

Cremation has taken place with a private family interment to follow at a later date. As Derek always loved animals and volunteered with the organization as a youth, for those who wish, a donation may be made to the

SPCA.
