DONALD ROBERTSON SMITH On Friday, September 16, 2016, Mr. Donald Robertson Smith passed away peacefully in Toronto, in the presence of family after a two-year spirited battle with cancer. Don, the son of the late John Smith and Lilian Smith (McEwan) was born June 19, 1934 in Toronto, Ontario. Don proudly served the Scarborough Board of Education and deservedly retired in 1995. He was preceded in death by his beautiful and loving wife, Eleanor Margaret Smith (Ashman) 1936 – 2001 and his godsend companion Muriel Helen Aitken (Little) 1930 – 2016. Don’s beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of his children: Karen Margaret Bowie (Smith), Richard Robertson Smith and David John Smith, plus son-in-law, Jim Bowie, daughter-in-law, Sandra Smith (Kollara) and daughter-in-law, Tracey Smith (Luberto), as well as cherished grandchildren; Andrea, Jenna, Greg, Sebastian and Theo. Don also leaves a host of devoted lifelong friends – too many to list – as everyone that met Don became his friend.
