Donald James Simkin

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Donald James Simkin at the age of 66 in Whitby, Ontario.

Don was a devoted father to Natalie Ash (Chris) and a proud grandpa to Chloe. Born in Oshawa to William Ernest and Margaret Petronella Simkin (both predeceased), Don was a beloved brother to Douglas Simkin (Pat), Christine Hoskin (Paul, predeceased), Alice Caines (Robert), Jackie Simkin, Edward Simkin (Janis, predeceased), the late Bruce Simkin (Diane), and Barbara Kentner (Brian). He will also be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Don dedicated 31 years to General Motors Security and Securitas before his retirement, forming lifelong friendships along the way. He will be remembered for his quick wit, love of music, and the joy he found at his cottage in Temagami. His warmth, humour, and presence will be deeply missed.

As per his wishes, there will be no formal funeral. A celebration of life will be planned at a later date, with details to be shared with family and friends.
