year after a long battle with cancer. Beloved husband to Susanne. Cherished father to Ryan (Kathryn), Spencer, Jennifer and Nicholas. Proud papa to Kieran and Cillian. Dear brother to Cathie and Trish.  Valued cousin to Janet, Todd and Margie. Much loved by Mum and Dad O’Brien.  Beloved by his in-laws, Christel, Gerald (Kim).  Special place in the hearts of numerous nieces and nephews.  Missed by his dog, Teddy. Predeceased by his parents Margaret and Frank.

John was a constant source of inspiration. He will be remembered for his love of family, deep friendships, and his passion for coaching kids baseball and hockey.  We treasure the memory of his easy laughter, storytelling, and love of golf, hockey and baseball. His tattoo of “No Bad Days” truly memorializes his strong willed and compassionate nature.

The family would like to send a special thank you Oak Ridges Hospice of Durham and to the cancer treatment teams at Sunnybrook Hospital. They gave John the priceless gift of additional time to enjoy with family and friends.
