John Lenny Hamm 1924 – 2018

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of John Lenny Hamm on January 19

th

at Lakeridge Health Center, where he peacefully succumbed to pneumonia at age 94. He was the beloved son of George Hamm, and cherished husband of Ruth Higgens, with whom he is now re-united.

He will be deeply missed by his daughter, Maureen, his son in Michael and his daughter in law, Maria, to whom he was always an anchor.

A respected Navy veteran, he enjoyed a long career as a valet, where he was renowned for his gregarious and generous nature. His quick wit and kind heart resonated with all whom he interacted.

Though he will be missed forever, his memory will burn strongly as on inspiration to those whom he touched.

In lieu of a Funeral, the family asks that loved ones honour John with a random act of kindness and senseless act of beauty, as these are the actions that marked John’s life.

A tree will be planted on Irish mountain in his honour.
