KENNEDY – GORDON MICHAEL SEPTEMBER 1-1953—MAY 18-2017
Gordon, aged 63, grew up in McAdam, New Brunswick and passed away at Toronto General Hospital from complications of a heart attack. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Yin Ye, and his stepdaughter, Shannon (Xiaonan) Liang, who recently arrived in Canada with Gordon from China.
He was predeceased by his parents, William Kennedy (1995) and Muriel McDermott-Kennedy (1997), along with several aunts, uncles and two cousins.
Gordon leaves behind his sister, Anne Kennedy-Furlotte, two nieces in London and Toronto, Ontario, Tara Kennedy and Kerri McMillan, one nephew Sean Jenkins in Saint John, N.B., two grand-nieces Sarah Organ and Kendra Cyr, one grand-nephew Liam Organ and a new great-grand-nephew Jaxon. He also leaves two aunts, Eleanor Guignard and Ernestine Derry of Saint John, N.B.
Gordon graduated from the University of New Brunswick with a BBA in 1983 and from Wilfred Laurier University with an MBA in 2003. His career included work for Canadian Pacific Railway, Royal Bank and teaching college and university business courses in Canada and China as well as consulting in both countries.
Gordon was an antique and model train enthusiast and a world traveler with a zest for life. He leaves us with many special memories.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Toronto on the evening of June 2, 2017. Gordon will be buried in McAdam on the afternoon of Saturday, July 29th, 2017. Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin McDermott, Brian Kelly, Sean Jenkins, Liam Organ, Melvin Furlotte, Chris Gilliss and Fred Bramston.
