Marilyn Edythe Westell

MARILYN EDYTHE WESTELL (née Wallace), RN, in her 95 th year, on March 17, 2025, at her home in Downsview, Ontario.

Born in Harriston, Ontario in 1930, Marilyn grew up there and in Fergus. She served as Operating Nurse

at Hamilton General Hospital. She married Robert Law Westell in 1952, and they raised seven children in

Toronto.

Known for her kindness and caring, she lived with independence and indefatigable energy. As she raised

her family, she baked bread from scratch, grew flowers from seeds, raised vegetables and herbs in the

garden, bred African violets, sewed her clothes, brewed beer and made wine at home. She volunteered

at North York General Hospital. In her forties, she returned to work and made a career in HR at the

Wellesley Hospital. She cared for Robert in his final years. She drove her car up until the last year of her

life. To the end, she pursued activities and destinations with a spirit of adventure.

She is predeceased by her husband Robert (2013) and her brother Raymond (2023). She is survived by

her loving children Paul, Robin, David, Kerry, Sandee, Kevin, and Christopher, seven grandchildren, and

three great-grandchildren.
