Millicent Bolton (nee Capaldi/Campbell)
Our dear mother, Millicent Bolton (nee Capaldi/Campbell) passed “gently into that goodnight” in her 100th year on November 9th in Oakville, Ontario.
Millicent (Milli) was born in 1922 in Blantyre, Scotland. In 1930, she came to Canada with her parents John and Millie Campbell to Hamilton, Ontario, along with her big brother Jack and little sister Rita (Corrigan). With her marriage to Cliff Bolton in 1944, she moved to Toronto and built a family and a business. She lived her last forty- five years in Oakville and was an active member and volunteer in the community.
Milli was smart, beautiful, patient and kind. Through the ups and downs of life, she provided safe harbour and love for her family. She cared deeply about people and loved to entertain friends and family with gourmet cooking and parties. Her openness drew others to her whether long-time friends or passersby. Although her last few years were an unhappy challenge, she never complained or indicated to us that we could do anything more for her.
She is missed terribly by her three daughters; Trish Bolton, Diane Burton and Lee Bolton Robinson. Her memory is treasured by her sons-in-law Brian Burton and Doug Robinson and by her granddaughters and their spouses Robyn and Justin Rawlinson and Christine and Jonathan Cooper. Milli also leaves her beloved great-grandchildren Maggie and Annie Cooper, and Beckett and Penelope Rawlinson.
Many thanks to her wonderful care-givers at Wyndham Manor Long Term Care for their compassion and support.
In May of 2022, Milli would have reached her 100th Birthday. Our Mom did not wish for a large ceremony, but she will be celebrated and honoured in the spring with a memorial gathering. She will rest with her husband Cliff at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Toronto.
If desired, donations in lieu of flowers made to
