It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patricia Cochar, beloved mother, dedicated educator, and passionate lover of life. Pat, born on November 17, 1938, passed away peacefully surrounded by family.
Pat was the cherished mother of Bobbi Cochar, with whom she shared an unbreakable bond. Her love for teaching touched countless lives. She began her career at General Brock Public School, where she taught 1st grade for three years. She then dedicated her talents to special education at Thistletown Regional Centre and led teacher education courses on special education at York University and University of Toronto. Pat concluded her teaching career at Braeburn Junior School, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and dedication.
A lover of animals, Pat's home was filled with the joy brought by her pets: Mikey, Dino, Amber, Zephyr, Comet, Tribble, Spock, PiPurr, and ShaeLane. Each one held a special place in her heart.Pat was an avid ice dancer and skating enthusiast, traveling to competitions across the United States, Germany, and Canada. She frequently attended Adult Ice Dance Weekends and shared her passion for skating with her daughter Bobbi. One of her most treasured memories was a trip to Dortmund for the World Championships, followed by a two-week tour of Germany. Another highlight was a five-week trip to New Zealand and Australia, creating moments that lasted a lifetime.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the MS Society of Canada in Pat’s memory.
Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
