Shirley Joan Margaret Floyd

May 4, 1937 — May 24, 2024

Toronto

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving mother, Shirley Joan Margaret Floyd (nee Rickard)
on May 24th 2024 in Toronto at the age of 87. Shirley was predeceased by her parents Earl and Margaret (nee Sabeck)
and her brother in-law Bill Hicke. Loving mother to Karen (Mark Witte) and Brian (Tammi) and cherished grandmother to
Christopher, Megan, Mackenzie, Riley and Will. Dear sister to Lee Anne Hicke and Bonnie Rickard and beloved aunt to their children.
Treasured cousin to Donna Rudichuk and her late husband Bill.

Born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan, Shirley excelled at school graduating from Scott Collegiate High School a year early
and winning a scholarship to the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon where she earned a degree in Pharmacy.
She married and raised her children in Regina, Calgary, Winnipeg and Toronto but forever remained a prairie girl at heart.

Shirley was bright, practical, and forthright. She was a loyal friend who would always lend an ear or a helping hand.
Shirley was an avid bridge player. She also enjoyed walking, reading, and spending time at the cottage.
She was an excellent cook and made the best pie ever. Shirley was a devoted fan of sport as a participant and a spectator.
She followed baseball and football and spent many happy hours watching her grandchildren swim, skate, play soccer, hockey
and run track. She was immensely proud of their accomplishments. Shirley will be greatly missed.

A huge thank you to Shirley’s friends and neighbours for all their support.

As per her wishes, a private family interment of her ashes will take place in Regina at a later date.
